2004053001082001 Arundhati Roy Disapproves Of Operation GreenhuntMAR 10, NEW DELHI, INDIA (PRINTWORDS NEWS) Booker prize winner Arundhati Roy made it evident in an address to the media proclaiming it hard and sombre for all social movements which according to the writer is the only way to take care of all “displacements” at all levels. She made it a point that the Maoists resistance surely incurs a strong point of difference in going against the strategy thus upsetting the whole system at large. Arundhati Roy who had been attending the event to lend a supporting hand towards fellow human rights activists proclaimed that there are various ranges of resistance that comes in from quite a different forms of existence .This includes both the Gandhians and non Maoists.

Much prior to this, Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram declared that the Centre is ready to come to terms with the freezing of “Memorandum of Understanding” (MoU) owing to the fact that the Maoists commit to negotiate. Arundhati Roy also mentioned that Operation “Greenhunt “ is only another name for governments policy of extermination and the government should be more focused towards putting an end to this policy which only bodes ill and odd for one & all.

Arundhati Roy thus hinted it out strongly that the state is in a condition where the utilization of natural resources might land the country on to a different platform altogether. Instead, what the country is holding on to are some far stretched elections which are equally expensive events. The whole economy is clashing it hard on the lower and down trodden class with much needed but no relief in actuality.
