London, November 26, (PRINTWORDS NEWS) Soccer aficionados who were speculating the future of David Beckham’s career after asthma reports of the footballer surfaced can relax now as some of the renowned fitness experts have declared that asthma will not stop Beckham from playing even in the Football World Cup 2014. Jean-Pierre Meersseman, the medical director of AC Milan , referring to the present health condition of the footballer, “Looking at his physique and the way we have corrected and elaborated on him and compared to all the data we have a lot of players, I see no reason why he couldn’t play till 40 at optimum level, absolutely”. It appeared that he is confident of Bekham’s skills and consider him fit to play not only in the coming World Cup but also in the World Cup of 2014. Fitness expert, Meersseman has guided Costacurta and Maldini to play in their early forties and his opinion about Beckham’s fitness level has cheered up many football fans.
Anticipations on Beckham’s football career started after he was spotted to use an inhaler during the final match of MLS . Some critics opined that Beckham was not in his best form on the match and that is one of the reasons for his team’s loss in the match. However, official sources stated that losing the match neither had any relation with his fitness level or asthmatic condition. Though his asthmatic condition got revealed after the MLS final match between LA Galaxy and Real Salt Lake, it did not affect his game. Beckham played in spite of having several bone injuries and tried his best to win the title, yet his team missed penalty shootouts and lost the match. According to the sources, Beckham has been affected by this chronic disease asthma since he was eight years old but that never had any negative impact on his career.
In one of his recent interviews, Beckham also admitted that he has been suffering from asthmatic condition from his childhood. Beckham, who is now 34, considers that this disease has not stopped him from making progress in his career and playing some excellent matches for the team of England ,AC Milan , Real Madrid as well as Manchester United . Beckham who has till now successfully overcome his asthmatic conditions said, “I’ve played 65 games a season for the last 20 years, so it doesn’t affect the future”. The former England Captain though could not win the MLS title, he is confident about his football skills. He insisted that asthma will not prevent him from playing in the high altitudes of South Africa and he assumes that he will be a part of England’s World Cup squad.
Beckham in his earlier interviews has stated that since his childhood he aspired to be a footballer and it is his determination that has helped him achieve his dream. He has played more than one hundred matches and is in no mood to stop his career at this time. Beckham is in perfect shape and has been playing good game for club teams. Therefore, fans can expect to see him rushing through the fields of South Africa wearing the jersey of his team, England in the coming World Cup matches.
