BA British Airways Strike Called Off: Still BA AT Risk Of Losing DollarsLondon, December 19, (PRINTWORDS NEWS) The global meltdown has taken a toll on the economy of every country and has shaken the backbone of many reputed companies of the world. Many companies have bestowed their hopes on the transactions of the festive season and are trying to recover during this time. The reputed airlines services of British Airways is anticipating a huge loss due to the the strike called by their cabin crew. The strike of cabin crew has created a discomfort among the higher officials of the airline and they had to take legal assistance for suspending this strike.

The officials of British Airways have appealed for emergency injunction from court to restrict the cabin crew from going on strike in the festive season. Strike of the cabin crew for twelve days will incur a huge loss for the company and the court after considering several aspects has finally issued its judgment in favor of the airlines company. British Airways has taken the legal actions on the issue as they considered that the balloting that had been done by the members of Unite was invalid. They considered that some of the former employees and some employees who are about to leave the company had cast ballots in favor of the strike. The court has also declared that the ballot strike was illegal as the former employees of the company had also participated in that vote.BA CREWS

Though the court injunction has helped the British Airways to restrict the twelve days strike, from December 22, 2009 to January 2, 2010, still the analysts consider that they are at risk of losing millions of dollars in the strike. According to the reports, many passengers have opted for some other carrier services as the British Airways’ cabin crew had called for the strike. It has come to the news that cabin crew, who have expressed discontent upon the job cuts and work space environment changes of the company have decided to call a new strike for three days. The news of the three day strike has worried many fliers and to avoid any kind of inconveniences they might opt for other airline services, making the British Airways incur loss in the new year.

As per the reports of different sources, Unite, the union of the cabin crew has decided to reopen a fresh ballot for the three day strike. Though the court orders have called-off the previous strike, they consider that declaring a strike in the new year would make the company reconsider their working conditions and other policies that have made the cabin crew protest. It is not yet decided whether the staffs would call a new strike or not, however, it is quite obvious that it has affected the reputation of the company.
