The British Police has launched a murder investigation into a house fire incident that took place in Cornwall on Thursday that led to the death of a women residing in the house. Reportedly, the house in Carpenter Court in Bodmin caught fire due to a firework that was pushed through the letter box.

In the incident, 59 year old Mary Fox got trapped in the her house after she pushed her son out of the window few moments after the house went ablaze with fire. Her 17 year old son Raum survived the incident but unfortunately Mary died in the fire. Raum who received minor injuries was released after preliminary treatment was administered to him. Their neighbor Doreen Rowe said that the entire community is devastated due to the incident and added that Mary had become quite a hero after her brave act that saved the life of her son. At the same time, she also added that on the day of the crisis a number of children were playing with fireworks in the nearby street which might have sparked the fire.

However, police have not ruled out the possibility that someone might have purposely kept the firework in their letterbox given the fact that that Raum was harassed and bullied by kids at school as well as in the neighborhood. Brett Millington, his classmate has said that the teenager is a social outcast and had learning difficulties. Moreover, Raum also had to change schools as he was hugely bullied by all the other kids.

However, Cornwall police are still investigating the case and have revealed that the considerable damage that was caused by the fire is adversely effecting the investigative process. Reportedly, at the moment the death of the lady is being treated as a murder.
