Chris Johnson is one of the best running back, but do the Titans need him to run? They need him to get more wins, that’s for sure. After his 2006-yard season in 2009 Chris went on to say that he wanted beat the all-time record for single season running and did a 2500. But the season still was an 8-8. So may be he can put aside his selfish goals and think of doing enough to get the team into the playoffs.

To do that he needs to make more contact and hit the ball real hard if you wants to find the gaps for hard bases or go over the wall. Swinging for the fence isn’t quite going to cut it, eh? And with serious offensive linesmen like Coach Mike Munchak and offensive line coach Bruce Matthews, space created is going to be good enough for 2-3 yard runs rather than Chris’ aims of 40 or 50. So yes, perhaps Johnson would do better to look for what’s available instead of looking for the big play. Pushing way too much for the highlight reels is only going to get him more zero or negative yard runs.

The Titans have shown a lot of faith in Johnson and it mght be time for him to give them some commitment now. If Munchak and the Titans need him to work into their offseason program letting younger players see what he is good at, it can’t be too bad. Even if he wants to keep it short and fly home to Orlando faster than the ball goes over the wall.

Quarterback Michael Vick said that he anticipates Maclin to rejoin the team soon. He commented, “Just to get him back and have him around would be a confidence builder for us just as far as getting him back down the road and having him be a part of something we think is going to be special.”

Andre Maclin had told the Sporting News earlier that his brother was “fine” although Jeremy had missed the entire training camp with an undisclosed ailment. He had also said that he would “definitely” have news of Jeremy on Tuesday. The Eagles head coach Andy Reid revealed on Tuesday that he too had no information about Maclin, and hinted that there may not be updates later in the day. The team broke camp at Lahigh University on Tuesday. Maclin is not expected to be seen at the presesason game on Thursday night at Pittsburg.

Meanwhile defensive tackle Mike Patterson has been doing conditioning work on the sidelines following his seizure on the field on August 3. Reid mentioned that he was being cautious about both Maclin and Patterson, also adding, “I want to make sure everything is done as far as the tests go, let’s just get everything cleared up. I know both of them can play football, and I understand their talents. Let’s just take care of the other stuff and make sure that they’re OK.”

The proud father also wrote that the family loves the name of their daughter as they love her. He gushed and added, “it is an amazing time for our family right now”.

The ace golfer also said that he will not play at the $6.2 million US PGA National on Thursday. When asked about his reaction, Tiger Woods said that he is “disappointed” as he would not play this time. He said, “I want to be out there playing but it’s not quite ready yet. It’s progressing”. The highest-paid athlete admitted that he has learned a lesson and called it as “borderline call”. He told that his return to the Players has aggravated his injuries all the more. However, things ultimately swung in favor of Roddick who beat his opponent by 7-6 (9-7) 6-7 (11-13) 7-5.

The victory must have tasted all the more sweet for Roddick considering that the 28-year-old registered his 30th career ATP Tour title in what was his 50th appearance on a championship final. As the showdown commenced, the American tennis ace delivered a crisp opening tie-break but Raonic made a comeback to the game in an astounding tie-breaker. Roddick gained an upper-hand in the game during the decider, but to the utter dismay of his fans, his opponent edged a 32nd ace which enabled him to survive a matchpoint while taking the score to 5-5. Despite the firm effort by the Canadian to clinch victory, at the end it was Roddick who superseded him and won the $1.1m ATP Tour event. This was the American tennis ace’s third victory at the Regions Morgan Keegan Championships, a tournament that he had last won two years ago.

Following the incident, officials of the European Tour also swung into action and found Woods guilty of violating the code of conduct, owing to which he would have to face a fine. A statement issued by the European Tour confirmed that the pro golfer would be fined for the act although the amount of the fine would not be revealed. Woods was also prompt enough to issue an apology on Twitter where he added, “The Euro Tour is right— it was inconsiderate to spit like that and I know better.
