eurostar2 Eurostar Services Still Suspended: 50,000 Remain StrandedLONDON, Dec. 21, (PRINTWORDS NEWS) The woes for all the people who were in anticipation of availing the Eurostar services during the weekend before Christmas, prolonged some more over the entire stretch of Sunday, as the Eurostar officials put all services on hold for an indefinite period. The reason that was put forth for the whole pandemonium was that the weather had got to the Eurostar trains. It is expected that the situation would have given rise to a lot of angry reactions from all quarters. The number of people who were caught in the line of fire due to the operator’s dysfunctional state rose to a steep 50,000 all through the day of Sunday.

As people continued to pile up in the Eurostar stations on the either side of the English Channel, it was hard to suppress the amount of hostility that seemed to be on the rise collectively. The angst against the authorities was so much on an up hill climb that the agitated passengers went ahead and demanded the resignation of the top brass. No doubt that post this incident [that too almost on the verge of Christmas week], Eurostar’s customer service would experience a serious back lash.

Meanwhile, the Eurostar authorities have come up with weak claims of snow playing the culprit in the present scenario. Which in no way is going about to pacify the irate passengers, who are considerably miffed at the wayward way in which the Eurostar officials have handled the situation that commenced since the Friday night. In an attempt to win back customer confidence, Eurostar has ordered a strict probe in to the matter to get to the bottom of the mayhem and rectify it. According to reports, Eurostar has requested independent rail experts to investigate the matter thoroughly and present a report on the same.

Also, the transport minister of France has stated that the French government has embarked upon a probe in the matter, to decipher the cause of the massive snag related to the Anglo-French operator’s break-down over the mad rush of the pre-Christmas weekend. Dominique Bussereau’s statement seems to echo what appears to be on the mind of thousands of others, when he said, “We can’t accept that this fundamental link (…) doesn’t function because snow falls.”

Maybe now it will be the time for some serious answers coming the way of the public, after they were subjected to such off-hand treatment by the Eurostar officials during the entire matter.
