JULY 3 (PRINTWORDS NEWS)27d5f7b1feb9171782b024db4f274ef4 Lahore Shrine Attack Creates Unrest, Sporadic Violence In Lahore the businesses and shops remained closed on Saturday as a mark of protest against the attack o suicide bombers at a shrine. The shocking incident again points out to Pakistan’s inability to contain the incessant violence and militancy that has plagued the nation for decades. The holy Sufi shrine at Lahore was attacked by suicide bombers on Thursday and at least 42 people died and 175 were left battling for their lives.

A strike was called by a religious alliance to condemn the heinous attack and also to pay respect to those who lost their lives. In some areas in the tense city the angry protesters forced some unwilling shop owners to shut their shops to show solidarity to the victims of the blast. The major markets in Karachi wee also shut for this reason. In several cities of Pakistan angry protesters took to streets and demanded that the government should take stricter steps to ensure that the culprits get nabbed. The sufi Muslims are on the verge of an emotional outburst as they have long standing rivalry with Taliban and militant groups.

The security at all other Sufi shrines have been stepped up after the attack across the country. The Pakistan government is red faced over the blast and it may draw flak in the international scene as well. No militant group has claimed the responsibility for this attack so far. However, the suspect is on Taliban supported regional militant groups that have surfaced in the country over the years.
