July 7, (PRINTWORDS NEWS) Actress Lindsay Lohan broke down into tears after she was sentenced to 90 days in jail and 90 days in rehabilitation on Tuesday in a courtroom in Beverly Hills. Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel read out the verdict in a packed courtroom on Tuesday and slammed the actress for not taking seriously the probation that was given to her in the 2007 cases of drunken-driving which entitled her to attend a string of alcohol education classes which the actress missed in more than one occasion.
After the sentence was given, the “Mean Girls” star started sobbing loudly while having urged the judge earlier to give her another opportunity, emphasizing that she had taken her alcohol education classes quite seriously. The 24 year old troubled actress went on to state that the sentence was hardly a joke for her as it was about her life and her career, something she had worked for all her life. However, Lohan’s repeated pleas fell on deaf ears as judge Revel went ahead with the sentencing after finding the actress guilty of missing at least seven alcohol education classes over the past six months while also failing to attend her meetings which are scheduled once a week.
The ‘Freaky Friday” star who must surrender before the authorities on July 20 in order to begin her sentence is likely to serve the term at Lynwood, California’s Century Regional Detention Facility. However, the prison is surely not going to be a unfamiliar zone for the actress who has served 84 minutes of her 24 hour sentence in the prison in the month of November, 2007.
