manu liverpoollive1 Manchester United Defeats Liverpool 2 1Old Trafford, Mar 21, (Printwords News) It was most certainly a clash of the titans as the two gladiators of the English Premiere league met face to face in a stand-off that garnered the much coveted attention of football lovers all across the world. For when Liverpool and Manchester United pace the arena, there can be nothing else short of fireworks. Which is what happened at the game played between the two arch-rivals. The score board displayed a glaring 1-1 till the 58th min, putting across loud and clear that the outcome was going to be every bit as thrilling as could have been anticipated.

The first goal from the end of Liverpool came in from Fernando Torres, who managed to successfully put the ball in the net at the the 5 min mark, setting the pace of the match. However, the men in red were not ones to be left back for long and ManU star Wayne Rooney brought back his team in to the game on the 12th min mark by scoring a goal. It was nevertheless an interesting goal, as Rooney’s penalty sailed through the goal keeper’s left side, keeping quite low. The ball was however, met across by Pepe Reina, who paraded the ball out in to the mid section of the area. It was here that Wayne Rooney landed the chance to greet the ball first and side footed it in to the part of the space of the net that was left largely unguarded by the Liverpool keeper.

The score remained 1-1 till the 58th min of the game. However, on the 59th min mark, Park Ji-sung, on behalf of the ManU team, put in another goal, taking the count for his team to 2. Manchester United climbed back in the premier league  by a 2-1 win against Liverpool.
