MSI CX600: Ideal For Budget Conscious Users But With A Few Caveats

London, Dec 23 (PRINTWORDS NEWS) –440x330 1200x900 1 MSI CX600: Ideal For Budget Conscious Users But With A Few Caveats Not all Users buy laptops to flaunt them at get together or turn heads at office. They need a portable computing solution that can perform almost all tasks a desktop PC can do and offer adequate media features as well. If you are among those users and can do without the Macbooks and Sony VAIOs have a look at the new MSI CX600. The 16 inch laptop has got almost everything right under its hoods; at least for the general users. It is available for £480.

Sure, the CX600 offers great value for money. You would not find many laptops within its price range with a zippy Intel C2D T6600 processor. Its 4GB of RAM complements the CPU well and it results in smooth and lag free multitasking. You can run audio encoding in the background and open 6-7 tabs in Firefox while using MS Word on this laptop-it will not slow down. The 250GB hard disk is okay but there are some models that offer 320GB storage these days. The multimedia freaks will appreciate the inclusion of ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 GPU. This is not meant for hardcore gaming but performs far better than Intel integrated Graphics solutions.

The glossy lid and grey blue interior of the CX 600 looks classic rather than jazzy. Its keypad is easy to use with a separate numeric keypad. However, the trackpad is not as intuitive and user friendly. It is quite odd that MSI has not provided a physical switch to prevent accidental clicks on the keypad while typing. The glossy screen has a wide 16:9 aspect ratio that offers a 1366×768 HD Ready resolution. It produces rich vibrant color but becomes a tad problematic to use outdoors owing to the glossy finish.

However, the lack of an HDMI port seems like a deal breaker. It means you have no means to connect it to an external display digitally. However, for those who hate using wires and cables, the CX 600 offers 802.11n Wi-Fi that offers data transfer at up to 300 Mbps. The inclusion of Windows 7 Home Premium edition is good for the users but it would have been better had MSI offered a 64 bit edition. The 32 bit Windows 7 edition can not utilize 4GB RAM owing to OS architecture  limitations. The graphics card in the CX 600 will play most 3D games as long as you do not stretch the in game settings too high. Overall, its a well performing laptop and if you can excuse its small glitches it will fit your bill easily.
