July 7, (PRINTWORDS NEWS) The common man is generally not used to NASA releasing any game, but this time on we are in for a surprise. ‘Moonbase Alpha’ is the new game that NASA has just unveiled on Valveās Steam network and according to the latest reports, NASA will make use of the services of this network for various services such as server browsing, leader boards, statistics and much more.
So what is ‘Moonbase Alpha’? According to representatives from NASA, it is a multi-player game which will be played in a 3-dimensional world. This game which spans a length of twenty minutes, shows an astronaut trying to restore normalcy at a site which has just been hit by a meteor attack as a result of which the life on this site has almost been crippled. The player of ‘Moonbase Alpha’ will have to make use of the resources made available to him, while he is trying to make the robots, rovers and other repair tools work to fulfil his mission. The game is set in a hypothetical lunar outpost, and thus the name of Moonbase. Only if the player makes a complete and effective use of the control devices that are in his hands can he or rather his astronaut restore normal conditions on the meteor affected site.
‘Moonbase Alpha’ is the first of the two commercial games to be released by NASA this year. It has been developed by the scientists along with help from famed commercial game developers Virtual Heros and ARMY Game Studio.
