Nicolas Sarkozy Is In Trouble, Yet Again!

nicolas Nicolas Sarkozy Is In Trouble, Yet Again!Paris, France, July 7, (PRINTWORDS NEWS) President Nicolas Sarkozy is again at the center of controversy. Only this its not about Carla Bruni! The allegations against the French President have not stopped ever since it was reported that a very rich French woman was involved in the funding of the President’s election campaign. Liliane Bettencourt, the L’Oreal heiress is reported tom have contributed euro150,000 in the 2007 elections which saw Nicolas Sarkozy’s rise to power.

The French has denied all such claims slapped against him. However, the allegations have not stopped, especially after the scandal surrounding the 87 year old lady’s huge fortune and the fact that a huge part of the fortune was an accumulation of the money acquired after evading income tax.

Claire Thibout, a former accountant from Bettencourt, was one of the first who brought up the issue in Court. While the case is still under investigation, the prosecutor’s office at Nanterre, a part of suburban Paris, has launched a fresh investigation on the case. Which means that there is no quick respite for Nicolas Sarkozy.

Claire Thibout says that the French President accepted a total amount of euro150,000, all in cash for funding his campaign. The treasure of the Conservative Party, Eric Woerth received the money on behalf of Nicolas Sarkozy in the month of March in 2007. He assumed office two months after the incident. Eric Woerth now works as the Labour Minister in Nicolas Sarkozy’s ministry and in this field too he has not stopped short of courting trouble. Eric Woerth is in charge of the criticized reform plan which talks of raising the retirement age from 60 to 62. Nicolas Sarkozy though is always beside Eric Woerth.
