London, Dec. 28, (PRINTWORDS NEWS) It is quite a common scene that politicians are giving alms to the beggars but it is quite surprising to know that a prince has spent a night on the street to feel the pains of homeless people. Prince William of Wales, the eldest son of Princess Diana has surprised the world with his act of spending a night on the streets of London. According to the reports, Prince William of Wales had decided to sacrifice all comfort for a night and came down to the streets with his sleeping bag. The prince spent the entire night under the Blackfriars bridge of London when the temperature recorded -4 degree Celsius, to experience how people spend the wintry nights on the road.
After experiencing a chilly night on the streets of London, the prince said, “I cannot, after one night, even begin to imagine what it must be like to sleep rough on London’s streets night after night.” He also stated that by spending a night on the streets, he has received the better understanding of the pain homeless people have to bear every night to withstand the extremes of temperature. He said that it has increased his concern about the poor people and he would make sincere effort to bring significant improvement in their condition. The prince has not only spent a night on the streets but also prepared breakfast for the poor people who live on the street. The benevolent act of the young prince has made many people compare his with his mother Princess Diana, who also had a soft heart.
As per the reports, the Centerpoint charity has assisted the Prince William of Wales in his philanthropic activities. The charity is known for helping the poor people who do not have any home and spend nights on the streets. These people do not have any security and have to face different kinds of adversities to survive. Though Prince William of Wales has spent a night in cold to experience the pain of homeless, he was guarded by two bodyguards. They protected the prince from any kind of unprecedented attack on the streets. Not only Prince William of Wales has tried to raise concern about the homeless people, Carla Bruni Sarkozy, the wife of French President, Nicolas Sarkozy has also made a great move. She has recently made friendship with one homeless person. Carla Bruni Sarkozy is also known for her charitable acts and has been praised for making friendship with a homeless man.
Both Carla Bruni Sarkozy and Prince William of Wales have done a great work to raise people’s awareness about the poor people who do not have any shelter to protect them. It is expected that their act would set an example for the politicians of the world, who want to help the poor people and improve their conditions.
