polanski Roman Polanski Bail Approved: Will Move To House Arrest From PrisonGeneva, Nov. 27, (PRINTWORDS NEWS) The celebrated film director, Roman Polanski who had been honored with Oscar Award for his work is waiting for the court verdict that will release him from jail. He has been granted bail by the Swiss Ministry against a sum of 4.5 million dollars and would be out of jail custody in few days. Though he would be released from jail, he would not be able to live an independent life like any other common citizens of the country. Sources stated that he would be under house arrest once he is released from prison. As per sources reports, Swiss Justice Ministry has declared that the court’s decision on the case of Mr. Polanksi will not be made before Monday and it is anticipated that officials would be seen to make preparations of his house arrest at chalet in Gstaad’s Alpine village, the grand residence of the director.

Roman Polanski was imprisoned since September when he entered Switzerland’s Zuric Airport for accepting an award. He is not only accused of raping an underage girl of 13 years but also is accused of escaping from the US police since 1978. If the charges against him are proved then he might face severe penalty like extradition. The director though has escaped all charges and has moved freely in different parts of Europe like any other independent citizens, now he will have to defend himself from the charges against him if he wants to live freely rest of his life.

As Polanski has successfully escaped law officials for decades, Swiss Law Ministry could not ignore the possibility that he will flee away from his house and make police officials to search for him once again. Therefore, they have decided to tie an electronic bracelet on his hand so that they can get informed as soon as Mr. Polanski makes an attempt to move out of his home. Ronald Noble, the Secretary General of Interpol stated, “Mr Polanski has given us more than 30 years of proof that he does not feel bound to respect any court decision with which he does not agree” and that is the reason that they will not set him free even when he has been granted bail.

Roman Polanski though has been accused of several heinous criminal activities, still he is popular with his fans. He has citizenship of Poland as well as France and his arrest was highly protested in France. Not only common men but also celebrities like Emma Thompson, Martin Scorsese and Woody Allen signed petition against the way the director has been treated. It has been stated by the sources, government officials of France has to intervene the matter and take some major steps for defending this famous personality from facing severe charges in Switzerland. Sources also reported that family members of the director have thanked French President Nicolas Sarkozy for the effective role he played to get the bail approved. His family is happy to learn about his bail yet they are little upset as Mr. Polanski’s Paris apartment has been deposited as bank security to raise the money for his bail.
