July 1, (PRINTWORDS NEWS) On Thursday Roy Hodgson replaced Rafael Benitez as the new manager of the Liverpool football team. The former left Fulham and had signed a contract of three-years as the manager of Liverpool. Roy Hodgson is elated with his new contract and has said to media sources that the contract was “absolutely impossible to turn down”. Just into the Liverpool team management, reports claim that Roy Hodgson is eager to share his vision of the team in the coming season with other officials and team members.
According to reports, a meeting is lined up in the next 36 hours between Roy Hodgson and captain Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres. After the announcement of the news of Roy Hodgson joining Liverpool, the new manager wrote in the official website of the team: “I’m extremely proud. The club’s tradition in terms of its football and its managers is really second to none and it was an opportunity which was absolutely impossible to turn down”.
However, the manager also added that it was difficult on his part to leave Fluham team as it is a team that has helped him to earn much name. Roy Hodgson added that he believes that his new job will be the highlight of his long career as a manager. He wrote in his statement, “I am both proud and excited at the prospect of working as the Liverpool manager. I don’t think there are many jobs that would have tempted me away from Fulham, to be perfectly honest”. With the new manager the Liverpool team is now hoping to get some success as last year it had finished seventh in the Barclays Premier League table.
