WEST YORKSHIRE, LONDON, (PRINTWORDS NEWS) A tragic murder took place in West Yorkshire. Gurmail Singh, a 63-year-old shop keeper was killed by a few teenagers at his store on Saturday, at around 8.30 p.m. Gurmail Singh was found dead at Cowcliffe Convenience Store in Cowcliffe, Huddersfield. Some of the people from a pub which was close by tried to stop the teenagers who fled with a little amount of cash, cigarettes and some sweets.

Gurmail Singh is a father of 2, and also a grandfather. According to his associates, he worked 7 days a week and he always wore a smile on his face. People who knew him said he was a pleasant personality. They have no clue why a warm person like him is murdered.

Police has started investigating the matter. 48 hours prior to the incident, Gurmail Singh was knocked on the floor by two youths tried to steal some goods from his shop and had knocked him to the floor. Police is expecting a possible link between both the incidents.

According to reports, Gurmail Singh was probably killed after he was hit by a sledgehammer. Pieces of bottles were found in the shop. 2 of the robbers were apparently still inside when a witness tried to stop them.

After the incident, Gurmail Singh was taken to a hospital. However, he died. A person who was nearby during the robbery said, ”At first we thought there was gunfire but it turned out, they were throwing around bottles which were exploding like gunfire. It must have been terrifying for him.”

All his neighbours were really sad for this tragic incident. A neighbour said, ”In the last snowfall we were all cut off yet he got a plastic sledge and went down the bottom of the hill to collect the papers for everyone. He was a valued member of society. He would always thank you for your business however little you bought.”
