Feb 6, (PRINTWORDS NEWS)- Sony Ericsson Yari pictures 1 Sony Ericsson Yari: Gaming Handset With Minor GlitchesSony Ericsson is known for making handsets that are focused on imaging and music. Take a look at some of its Cyber shot branded handsets and those belonging to the Walkman series and you will understand. However, in recent past the company has tried to bring out multimedia feature rich models, such as the Aino and Satio. However, one does not really expect a gaming oriented handset from the company considering its knack for stressing on the media features. All that is going to change with the new Sony Ericsson Yari.

It is meant for the hardcore gamers who want a replacement to their Xbox or Wii and want something that can give them the same thrill albeit on a smaller screen. It has gesture based gaming, a feature you would not find in the majority of cells. The Yari is sold with a number of games and if you want more the option is also there. It is a gaming focused slider phone that is not much stylish but still looks decent.

However, Sony Ericsson has ensured that the Yari does not lag behind in the feature department either. The 5 MP camera gives reasonably good shots and its smile detection is almost accurate. There is a front camera which comes in handy for making video calls. However, the sole weakness in the Yari is web browsing. The bundled browser is not impressive and it lacks Wi-Fi. The phone has GPs though, and on board Google maps is pretty easy to use.

Like most of the high end Sony Ericsson models, the Yari is jam packed with feature and the novice users may find it hard to locate a particular feature. The keypad is soft but not comfortable for prolonged use. While the Yari packs in almost all required features a user may need, it fails to offer anything outstanding and the minor performance glitches add to the disappointment. The gesture based gaming, while gives a different experience, it is not the reason you should buy a phone for.
