There are many reasons why the 1997 blockbuster of maverick director James Cameron is getting media focus all over again. There is news that the director will be making a 3D version of the hit movie. The 3D version will be released in 2012. However, that is not the only reason for its hogging the limelight. Gloria Stuart, the actress who played the elder version of the heroine Rose in the movie turned 10 recently and the film’s director aka James Cameron held a grand party in the Beverly Hills. She enthralled us all with her moving performance decades back and we all cherish her act. The party was hosted by both James Cameron and his wife. It was attended by over 100 guests including many actors. The director wished her all the best and praised her in lavish terms. However, the actress had other reasons to feel cheerful.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is going to honor her. A program on the actress will be shown on July 22 as it has been reported. She acted in many other films in her long career in Hollywood but after working in Titanic she became a household name. The actress is of course elated with these developments. She enjoyed the birthday party and the attention heaped on her.
The academy considers her performance in titanic as one of the best ones in memorable Hollywood films. It got her a nomination for the best supporting actress category next year.
