London, DEC 18 (PRINTWORDS NEWS) -
Viewsonic is a company that is mainly known for making some of the best performing displays in the market. Its LCD monitors are used by both Professional imaging artists and average PC users. However, the latest craze among PC component manufacturers is making netbooks and ultraportable laptops. After Asus, MSI and Benq, Viewsonic has also decided to join the Ultra portable laptop bandwagon. It launched a netbook earlier named VNB100. You can get it from Expansys for £230. It is not a killer product by any means and offers the same specs as numerous other models in the market. Recently Viewsonic decided to broaden its range of laptops and netbooks and that is why it has launched a number of sleek models under the ViewBook range.
As of now, there are three models in the Viewbook range, named 140,130 and 120 respectively. The Viewbook 120 has a 12 inch screen while its siblings have larger screens. You can also pick the Pro model that has a13.3 inch screen. All the models in the range come pre installed with Windows 7 Home Premium edition. The entry level Viewbook costs around £469 and the high end model can be bought for £699. While the entry level model resembles a netbook more than a laptop it offers impressive performance. The models are fitted with latest Intel CULV processors that offer a good balance of performance and battery life.
All the models in the Viewbook range feature LED backlit widescreen displays along with wireless connectivity and HDMI. Viewsonic has targeted the users who are always on the move and want laptops that offer nice blend of portability and performance. While the slimness of the Viewbook Pro, the flagship model is no match for the sleek and svelte Dell Adamo, it is slimmer than Apple Macbook Pro. This model is available in silver and Black finish. At just 1.6kg it is significantly lighter than the majority of ultraportable models.
The USP of the Viewbook range is not looks but battery life. The company claims that the Viewbook models can run for more than 8 hours on a single recharge. The Viewbook Pro features a slim and hot swappable DVD drive. Take this out and you will be able to insert a second battery without switching it off. That means on the move computing extended to extreme levels. Just imagine, you can take this laptop out with you to your office and when you return home it will continue to run! The matte finish anti- glare screen of the model makes it suitable for using outdoors. These laptops can pose serious challenge to Acer Aspire Timeline Series with their awesome battery life and decent features.
