(PRINTWORDS NEWS)- It is quite true that the world is going gaga with iPad 2 and tablet mania has gripped the geeks by the neck. However, all is not over with netbooks as a lot of people think. Tablets may have stolen its thunder but the smaller cousin of laptop still has some way to go as it seems from the latest developments.
Asus recently unveiled two net books which are powered by AMD Fusion platform. A few Fusion based ultra portables have already hot the market and the reviews have been generally encouraging. The two models belong to Asus’s popular Eee PC range.
Asus Eee PC 1015B is a 10 inch netbook powered by AMD’s single core C30 CPU which runs at a speed of 1.2GHz. It also has Radeon HD 6250 graphics. The sibling model 1215B features a bigger screen and resolution.
Its 12 inch screen sports a nice 1366×768 resolution. It is powered by AMD E350 dual core CPU which runs at a stock speed of 1.6GHz. It also offers slightly more powerful Radeon HD 6310 graphics.
The smaller model has 2GB and the bigger one has 4 GB RAM. Both the models sport a USB 3.0 port. The icing on the cake is the HDMI out port. This is as good one can get from a net book. If you opt for the 6 cell battery it will last for 8.5 hours on a single charge. The pricing of the models is not yet known. The models will offer far better performance than Atom platform based contenders.
