(PRINTWORDS NEWS)- There was a time a portable music player was synonymous with Walkman, a brand developed by Sony- the Japanese giant. However, the rise and popularity of iPod stole its thunder. However, Sony has revamped its Walkman lineup in recent times and the new NWZ-E453 is a worthy candidate.
It offers 4GB of internal storage. It looks quite sleek though not on par with an iPod and is available in a number of attractive hues. It is really lightweight and can slip into your pocket easily.
At the side there is a port for USB charging. The 2 inch screen sports a resolution of 240×320-pixel. The display though small is vivid and clear. Videos play well on the screen. However, it is no touchscreen as such and you have to use the buttons for accessing various functions.
Its unique SensMe feature picks songs based on their types and plays them accordingly. The Karaoke mode is interesting as well. It basically mutes the vocals in a song and so you can sing with the music!
As far as sound quality is concerned it is hard to find fault with Sony NWZ-E453. It offers support for a wide gamut of audio format including mp3 and WMA. WMV and MPEG 4 video playback is also supported. Copying and organizing music into the player is very easy.
There is in built FM radio but no WiFi or web connectivity options in it. If you are not interested in eye candies and Touchscreen and can do without iPod then this one fits your bill well.
