(PRINTWORDS NEWS) The world was shocked and stood standstill when singing diva Amy Winehouse was declared dead. Three days after her tragic death, her family laid her to rest at Edgwarebury Cemetery in north London. The “Rehab” singer’s friends and family gathered at the private funeral to be part of the event.
Amy Winehouse died at the age of 27 and her autopsy report says that the cause of death was “inconclusive”. Wearing black suits, beehive hairdo, family and friends of the singers bid final farewell to Amy Winehouse with tears, prayers, song and laughter at the funeral ceremony.
Amy Winehouse’s father, mother and brother were joined by her friends, celebrities, band members etc. Producer Mark Ronson, singer Bryan Adams, her friend Kelly Osbourne and Remi Nicole were also present to bid goodbye to the troubled singer. Amy Winehouse’s boyfriend Reg Traviss seemed lost when he said that he has lost his “darling”.
Kelly Osbourne wore a beehive hairdo to pay her tribute to her close friend. Mitch Winehouse ended the eulogy by saying, “Goodnight, my angel. Sleep tight. Mummy and Daddy love you ever so much”. After the funeral, Chris Goodman, Amy Winehouse’s spokesperson told a reputed media outlet that Mitch narrated a lot of stories about his daughter’s childhood and paid tribute to all the special in Amy’s life.
The funeral service started with prayers. After that the guests read meditation, Mitch Winehouse gave an eulogy and then everybody read the final prayers. Carole King’s “So Far Away” was the last song played at the funeral as it was Amy’s favorite. Blake Fielder-Civil, Amy Winehouse’s ex-husband could not attend the funeral and the media outlets are of the opinion that he was refused leave from Armley Prison in Leeds. At the same time, it has been reported that he was asked to stay away from the funeral by Mitch Winehouse. The funeral ended with Amy Winehouse’s friends and family recalling their fond memories with the star.
