Contrary to the latest buzz on social networking sites on Wednesday, Hong Kong actor and martial arts star Jackie Chan is alive and as they say, kicking.
A new Facebook page titled RIP Jackie Chan emerged today and was ‘liked’ by 50,000 people. A picture of the Rush Hour actor wearing a tux appeared on the page with the message R.I.P. Jackie Chan.
There was another similar hoax about the actor’s death in March on Twitter that said he had died in a snowboarding accident in Switzerland. A spokesperson for Chan wrote about Jackie Chan Death Hoax on his Facebook page, “Jackie Chan is alive and well.
Playboy supremo Hugh Hefner and soul singer Etta James were also reported to have died in similar hoaxes in recent times.
Chan has finished shooting for his next film, 1911 (Xinhai Geming) that deals with the founding of the Republic of China after the Qing Dynasty was overthrown by the nationalist forces.
