(PRINTWORDS NEWS)- The leading laptop makers of the world are coming up with smaller and stylish laptops that perform at par with bigger mainstream laptops. What it means for you is that no longer you have to sacrifice performance for portability. Dell and HP have come out with some such ultraportable models of late and Toshiba too has jumped on the bandwagon with its Portege R830 model. It looks cool with its matte finish panel and offers extended battery life that can cover the time you need in an intercontinental flight easily. It is powered by an Intel Sandy Bridge CPU so performance is not going to be an issue.
The 13.3 inch screen of the laptop sports a 1366×768 resolution which is good enough for almost every work. You can choose to have a better CPU from Intel Core i5 and i7 series as well provided you are willing to dole out more. You can opt for a Hard drive or expensive 256 GB SDD. There is no discrete GPU though you are stuck with integrated Intel GMA 3000 HD. You can also choose between a 6 cell or beefier 9 cell battery.
The hard disk remains safe in case of accidental drop as Toshiba implements a 3D accelerometer. Depending on your usage pattern and need you can choose the CPU. For multimedia usage and HD content the Core i7 CPU is recommended. Its price is yet to be known but expect it to be much cheaper than the svelte Macbook Air or Samsung 9 series laptops.
